A deer hunting log you'll actually keep

A deer hunting log is only useful if you actually keep it. The Stand is built so logging a sit takes less time than climbing down: pick the stand, check the weather it already filled in, count what you saw, and save. Do that every time and, a season or two later, you have something no map or forecast can give you — a record of how deer behave on the ground you hunt.

Why log every sit

Memory is a poor record. The sit where you saw six does and a young buck blurs into the three quiet evenings around it, and by next October you remember the story, not the conditions. Patterns only show up across many sits, and only if the slow ones are written down too. A blank sit is data: it tells you when a stand is cold.

A deer hunting journal turns those scattered mornings and evenings into something you can read back. Which stand produced in the pre-rut? What wind were you on when the shooter walked past? How many hours did you actually spend in the stand before your first opportunity?

What The Stand records

Each sit records the stand, the date, your time in and time out, and the temperature, wind direction and wind speed — filled in automatically from a weather service when you have signal, or typed by hand when you do not. The moon phase is worked out from the date, and you can mark the rut phase you think the deer were in, from pre-rut through seeking, chasing, lockdown and post-rut.

Then the part that matters: what you saw. Count does, bucks, shooter bucks and other deer, note whether you had a shot opportunity, and add notes and photos if something is worth remembering.

Built for the stand

The sighting counters sit right on the main form rather than behind extra screens, so a sit can be logged in under a minute. Everything saves to your phone, which means the log works deep in the woods with no cell service at all. There is no account to create and nothing to sync.

Free to use

The Stand is free: unlimited stands, unlimited sit logs, the harvest log with photos, and your season stats. Download it, log your next sit, and start the record that makes every season after this one easier to read.
